3/24
Tried to give myself a diy shower with some soap this morning. Was able to scrub my hair, face, arms and armpits and felt a little cleaner. We tried to get out by 9:15am but were running behind and ended up leaving by 9:35. We're trying to start earlier in the day as the weather gets hotter.
Knees felt super sore this morning, the first two miles were super tough. Was not feeling it today until we took our first break when we saw Mimi and Heather. We bumped into them on our way to Springer Mountain on the approach trail on day 1. It's always cool to bump into people we met during our first day, we took a nice stretch break and ended up hiking with them for a couple miles during the morning since we all were trying to make it to the same shelter for the night.
We hung out with them for a while till Jules and I decided to take our lunch break while they kept on hiking. On the way saw some this cool shell, and this is spring is where we got most of the water we drank today.
Jules and I had a very long relaxing lunch break, we ate, stretched, napped, and played some kendama
By the time we got to the campsite it was already tent city. We found ourselves a spot for the night and went to hang out with the other hikers. Jules tried out my stretching band and we strapped ourselves into our tents. Supposed to be a pretty windy night.
13 miles total today, pretty easy day, not too much elevation. Booked ourselves in for a room at the hostel on Monday night. Pretty excited to shower and do laundry!
See ya tomorrow!
