3/28 Day 9
Leaving the hostel sucked, but it was necessary. Used their porcelain thrones 1 last time then Mimi, Heather, Jules and I loaded ourselves into the back of the shuttle to get dropped off at Blue Ridge Gap
We had a relatively easy day today. 11 miles to the Standing Indian Shelter. Legs were very fresh, but I felt tired all day. Stayed up too late last night at the hostel.
We did finally make it out of Georgia! Next couple days will be spent in North Carolina.
The rest of the day was rather underwhelming. Some pretty intense climbs, but we got to the shelter around 4:00. Plenty of time to hang out, filter water, and eat.
Pretty soon we are going to hit 100 miles on the trail which will be super exciting.
I've been stretching so much I can almost touch my toes! Which I've never been able to do before. I stretch at least 3 times a day, usually after my meals.
The temperature is supposed to drop to around 30 degrees tonight, so I need to remember to keep with my filter so it doesn't freeze.
Doing another 11 miles tomorrow, keeping it simple. Excited to have a drink at the brewery in Franklin on Friday.
Until tomorrow!
See ya lovelies 😉
